KKD to spend new year in jail as he is refused bail

The court has today Tuesday December 30, refused Ghana’s finest, Kwesi Kyei Darkwa, popularly called KKD, bail.

Lawyer Gary Nimako who represented KKD in court today argued that his client would be available in court anytime he is needed and therefore the court could rest assured and grant him bail but presiding judge, Adwoa Akyaamaa Ofosu denied the CEO of Finest Productions bail

KKD was arrested by the Airport Police for an alleged rape offence.

The showbiz personality was arrested Saturday night for allegedly raping a 19-year-old aspiring model at the African Regent Hotel.

The 49-year-old father of two has confirmed having sex with the 19-year-old girl, but he still insists it was consensual.

The fashion icon will spend the New Year in Police cells at the Airport Police Station.

He will reappear in court on Thursday, 8th January, 2014
