Kotoko paid juju woman GHC20,000 before winning league

A ‘Public Relations Officer’ (PRO) of former Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong, Kofi Asante has alleged that Kumasi Asante Kotoko employed the services of a juju woman before winning trophies.

Kofi Asante claimed on Asempa FM’s Scoreboard Programme on Saturday that Kotoko had to pay the said juju woman an amount of 20,000 Ghana cedis before the African Club of the century could win the Ghana Premier League for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

The woman with the voodoo powers, according to him, was brought from the Nzemaland, kept in the home of Dr. KK Sarpong where she was fed three times a day.

“Dr KK Sarpong is a dedicated Christian but when he resumed office, he chose to let the status quo remain and that included taking care of the juju woman…,” he claimed on the show.

Dr. Sarpong’s lawyers recently filed a writ at the Kumasi High Court, Commercial Division, demanding GHC537, 247.000 being an outstanding loan their client gave to Kotoko during his tenure as an Executive Chairman.

The former Tema Oil Refinery Boss has since indicated his unpreparedness to withdraw the suit from the law courts.

“During the time of KK Sarpong, we had one juju woman kept in a secret place…we paid her 200 million cedis (20,000 Ghana Cedis) the whole season. She helped Asante Kotoko to win the league,” he claimed.

This amount, he said could not be included in the law suit as there are no receipts to show for that at the court of law.

According to him, Dr. KK Sarpong also bought a vehicle for the Nzema juju woman who was always indoors during Kotoko matches but could work to change the outcome of matches.

He emphasized the unpreparedness of his boss to withdraw the law suit against the club.
