Kurt Carr to stir Harvest Praise 2014

67595417An American Gospel music composer and performer, Kurt Carr and Harvest Gospel Choir, are to stir Christians on Crucifixion Day with a blend of traditional gospel composition and vocals at Harvest Praise 2014 at Accra International Conference Centre.

Harvest Praise 2014 slated for Good Friday April 18 will also serve as gospel musical platform for both local and international artists to display elements of distinct modern harmonies and singing styles found in urban contemporary gospel, Mr Daniel Adjei, Harvest Praise Planning Committee Chairman, told the GNA in an interview in Accra.

The 50-year-old Carr’s songs includes: “We lift our hands in the Sanctuary,” “I almost let go,” “Awesome Wonder,” “Don’t Let Your Light Go Out,” “God Great God,” “Jesus Can Work It Out,” “Let Everything That Has Breath Praise,” “Like A Mighty River,” “My Time For God’s Favor,” “The Lord Strong and Mighty,” and “We Offer You Praise”.

Carr was a piano accompanist for Andrae Crouch’s music ministry for one year and also the Choir Director of the West Los Angeles Church of God in Christ where he worked with both gospel and secular musical artists including Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin.

Other artist for Harvest Praise 2014, musical event organized by the Harvest Chapel International are the Harvest Theatre, Nana Folson with the lead song “God is Good,” Deacon Yaw Antwi Dadzie, “Apple of my eye,” and the good old Daughters of Glorious Jesus.

Mr Adjei said: “We are expecting a breakout of miracles on the day which will cause many to come to the saving knowledge of Christ. Let’s encourage people to have this expectation and come with people who desire to experience the power of God”.

He said in line with strengthening the Harvest Praise brand as a family programme, “we believe there should be opportunity for the younger ones to benefit better from the programme than is currently the case.”

“We propose “HP Kids”. A program specifically for the younger ones (Ages 4 – 10). They will be in a separate auditorium with their own friends and peers enjoying activities, word and music tailored to suit their age bracket,” Mr Adjei.

It is expected that the programme will give the kids a deeper understanding of Easter: the death and resurrection of Christ.

That is, the death and resurrection of Christ becomes more relevant to them right from a very young age. They will also be given opportunity to accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Mr Adjei said “Child Care Givers,” who will manage the programme will be identified clearly to assist the children and parents throughout the event.
