Kwaw Kese Goes Mad At Vodafone Icons Final…As He Accuses Organisers

33023439_778815Kwaw Kese aka Abodam has done it again. The man ‘insane’ pulled off a typical Kanye West and Taylor Swift scenario yesterday evening September 5, 2013 during the live recording of Vodafone Icons- Street Edition finals at the National Theatre.

The controversial Ghanaian rapper, who had not been billed to perform took everybody in the auditorium by surprise and pulled one of his stunts when he walked on stage uninvited to interrupt the announcement of the winner for the competition in solidarity to his brother Budda.

The award winning Rapper spotting a red T-Shirt and black pants walked on stage in the full glare of the live cameras, the panel of Judges and the charged audience just when the winner was about to be announced to register his displeasure because his younger brother Budda who was one of the final four contestants had been evicted from the competition during the final show which he thinks was unfair because he believe his brother deserves to win.

Kwaw walked on stage forcing host Benny Blanco who was about to announce the winner, South African Idols Judge and Universal Music Executive, Randall Abrahams and Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Uche Ofodile who had been called on stage to present the ultimate prize, to leave the stage with the prize for the eventual winner.

He then went ahead to incite the crowd to cheer “budda!!budda!!budda!!” and clearly the crowd kept screaming the name of his brother continuously. Whiles on stage Kwaw Kese asked for a microphone to put his message across but nobody was ready offer the uninvited guest the microphone as they didn’t know what he was going to say and they obviously didn’t want to risk their brand. This unexpected interruption by Kwaw Kese brought the show to an abrupt halt and for over 30 minutes the stage was left empty and the National Theatre came to a stand steel.

In an exclusive interview with Peacefmonline.com Kwaw Kese justified his action and explained why he did what he did. “I did that because I believe my brother Budda was supposed to win because he was the crowd’s favourite, he was the only Rapper among the final four and he has stage presence than the other contestants. So I came on stage to let the whole world know that Budda is the best but they cheated him”.

Asked if Budda had enough votes aside his showmanship and audience appeal to be able to win, Kwaw Kese said he doesn’t believe in the voting system “They say voting but I don’t believe in the voting system because his fans and the public voted for him”.

Kwaw Kese also alleged that someone from the organizers called to tell him before the finals that he must buy GH¢10,000 worth of Vodafone credit and vote for his brother before he (Budda) can win. An offer he refused to comply but according to him, he has reliable information that family of the eventual winner complied with the secret directive from the organizers and bought that amount of credit to vote for him which obviously made him win the ultimate prize.

“I believe these companies make a lot of money from public votes so if they want family members of the contestants to also spent all this money in addition to the public votes then that is robbery and I didn’t do it because I wanted my brother to win genuinely”, Kwaw Kese disclosed.

Kwaw told Peacefmonline.com that he is hitting the studio with Budda to record a new single but he refused to disclose the content of the yet to be released song saying “people should just watch out for another mad song”.
