Lawyer Ampaw Sues A-Plus over ‘Castro comment’
An Accra-based private legal practitioner, Dr Maurice Ampaw, has dragged musician/comedian, A-Plus (real name as Kwame Asare Obeng), to court.
Dr Ampaw, who is unhappy about comments the musician made about him on social networking site – Facebook – is suing the latter on the grounds of defamation.
Arguing that the musician denigrated his personality, Dr Ampaw prayed the Court to fine him GH₵1 million.
The legal practitioner is also asking the court to order A-Plus to retract his statement and render an unqualified apology.
He also wants the musician to be restrained – via a perpetual injunction- from repeating the said defamatory statement elsewhere.
Dr Ampaw had promised to provide Ghanaians with information about the whereabouts of Castro and Janet Bandu who went missing while jet skiing at Ada.
He said he would provide that information by end of September 2014 but as of October 10, 2014 he had not provided that information.
