Maame Dokono returns to movies
Movie director, Leila Djansi, has announced the main cast for Poison Bait, the new web series she is directing for Iroko TV.
Young Ghanaian actress, Marie Humbert, leads some of the continent’s crème de la crème on the project.
Among them are; Adjetey Anang, Grace Omaboe aka Maame Dokono, Mary Remmy Njoku, Gideon Okeke, John Dumelo, Ama K Abebrese, Naa Ashorkor Mensah, and Edward Agyekum Kufuor.
Poisoned Bait is a story about Ariel (Marie Humbert), a literary agent and her client, Betty, (Mary Remmy Njoku) whose book on marriage creates a juxtaposition between her own marriage and Ariel’s marriage to Henry (Adjetey Anang) which is threatened by the presence of her ex-Bernard (Gideon Okeke).
Grace Omaboe’s casting, coming on the heels of her recent complaint that movie producers seem to have abandoned her and other elderly Ghanaian actors, should be particularly refreshing for her many admirers.
Shooting began two weeks ago at various locations in Accra.
