Miss Ghana@60 train in Tamale for first audition
Exclusive Events Ghana, organisers of Miss Ghana beauty pageant, together with selected judges and personalities, have hit the road to scout for contestants for this year’s competition.
As indicated by C.E.O of Exclusive Events, Mariam Inna Patty, this year’s contest will see the team travel to all 10 regions of Ghana to select the most qualified ladies for the pageant.
The cross-sectional approach of selecting the ladies has been necessitated by calls for a multicultural representation on the Miss Ghana stage.
The crew makes its first stop in the capital city of the Northern Region, Tamale on Thursday, August 10. The auditions will come off at the Global Dream Hotel.
Joy News’ Doreen Avio, who is also the host of the Miss Ghana@60 Diaries, is with the team and reports of the warm reception they received from leaders and people of Tamale.
According to her, the team paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed who was so excited to see the delegation in the region.
The Minister noted that the Region’s high poverty, illiteracy and their location are a disadvantage, especially to the youth because they make it very difficult for them participate in a lot of entertainment programs.
He acknowledged that the Miss Ghana pageant gives people the opportunity to participate and also get the exposure to learn from others.
Mr Saeed pledged his support for the pageant and hopes the queen for the 60th anniversary of the beauty competition, will come from the Northern Region.
