Miss Malaika Assists Orphanage Home

Miss Malaika 2011, Gerry Partington, has donated items worth over GH¢ 3000 to the United Hearts Children Centre at Bawjiase in the Central Region.

This forms part of her plan to give back to society. The items she gave included books, gallons of cooking oil, biscuits, LG refrigerator, Kalyppo drinks, 10 boxes of Safina water, among others.

During the presentation, Gerry said it was her gift to these children who needed support from people like her.

Presenting the items, the beauty queen said, “the children in the orphanages look up to us as their source of encouragement. Most of us are in a position to help them and that is exactly what I have done, adding that she hoped her widow’s mite would go a long way to make the children healthy and happy.

Receiving the items, the founder of the home, Reverend Elisha Asamoag, who expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the kind gesture extended to the home, thanked the beauty queen for the donation and called on individuals and organizations to also support the home.
