Miss World tells Ghanaians Medaase, praising her iconic hospitality

Miss World, Ivian Sarcos is full of praise for Ghana, after the country showered on her iconic hospitality during her 5-day visit to Ghana.

The 22-year-old winner of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant was in the country, with her team from May 19 to May 23, for the Beauty with a Purpose Charity Ball and the launch of the Miss Ghana 2012 beauty pageant.

The Venezuelan speaking at the launch at the State House, Banquet Hall, declared that she knew nothing about Ghana before her trip but after experiencing the country’s warmth, Ghana will be a second home to her.

“When I came here, I knew nothing about this country but now, I can tell you that I truly love Ghana. I love the kenkay, I love the chicken and stew, and I love fufu … and most of all I love the people. I love so much that I will come back and visit you again and again,” she promised.

Not only will the stunning gem of a beauty be visiting Ghana, Ivian has also pledged her support for Miss Ghana 2010, Stephanie Karikari’s Beauty with a Purpose Project which seeks to better the lot of underprivileged children.

Stephanie through her project plans to construct an educational facility at Ayalolo to help the children at Sodom and Gomorrah.

“We are here to support Stephanie and the Beauty with a Purpose Project. Stephanie is a beautiful woman who wants to give her life to help the children of Ghana. I have come from my country Venezuela to tell you that I will give my support to Stephanie, all my support to the children of Ghana.”

Former Miss Ghana and CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana, organizers of this year’s pageant, Inna Mariam Patty announced that this year’s pageant has in store a lot of mouthwatering prizes for contestants and winners of the pageant.

Aside the cash prizes and other goodies, the winner, first and second runner-ups of the pageant will walk away with a brand new car each, the first of its kind since the inception of the pageant some 55 years ago.

Also at the ball and launch were the Tourism Minister, Madam Akua Sena Dansua; Mayor of Accra, Alfred Vanderpuije; Executive Chairwoman of the Miss World organization Julia Morley; Miss Peurto Rico; Miss England, and Chief Mandela, son of former South African leader Nelson Mandela.

The night which had its fair share of glitz and glamour coupled with good food witnessed exciting performances from music maestro Kojo Antwi and Sherifa Gunu.
