“MTN CHILL ZONE” GETS KWAHU JAMMING!

Empire Entertainment and Fizzles promised to deliver a fan packed and entertaining event to rave folks in Kwahu this year with the MTN Chill Zone; and they certainly delivered on that promise.

Perhaps due to the massive hype that had preceded the event, the folks in Kwahu were already bubbling with excitement even before the “Akwaaba Party “ on the 22nd of April. The party was officially to kick-off activities for the three day fiesta, and saw a mammoth crowd thronging into the venue for a rave that for most was filled with excitement and great music. The crowd, a heady mix of the Kwahau-Obo town folk, rave heads from Accra and other parts of the country as well as tourists, gyrated to good music from some of the very country’s very best Djs all through the night.

It was followed by a very well patronized health walk and screening exercise in Obo the next morning.

The most anticipated event however, was the mega concert set for Easter Saturday night, which featured an all star line-up of DJs, MCs and the very biggest performers of the moment.

On the bill, was Trigmatic, who thrilled with “Ma life” and his “Hold yuh remix” whiles Stay Jay proved he was the next big thing, and got the crowd jamming along to hit joint, “Shiahie wowo” . Also thrilling the huge crowd was D-cryme, Guru, Bohyeba, Old Sodja, Nana Boroo and a host of others. The concert went straight throughout the night and by dawn; folks were still jamming to exciting performances from their favorite acts and savoring every moment of it

Even after such an exciting Saturday night, the guys from Empire and Fizzles, still had more up their sleeves with the special Sunday night Highlife and comedy show which featured the legendary PAAPA YANKSON and comedian A-plus. Here the crowd was more relaxed and much older, but even then they could resist bringing back some old “skool” dance moves to Paapa Yankson’s “Adwoa Yankey” and so much from his repertoire of hit highlife grooves backed by an amazing live band. A-plus also did his thing all through out his set and generated laughter from a very satisfied audience all throughout his session.

It was a gratifying climax to an exciting and fun-packed three day fiesta that had thoroughly thrilled ecerybody up on the mountains in Kwahu Obo for Easter 2011. Indeed, most people could not help but proclaim, the MTN Chill Zone in Kwahu as the biggest and most entertaining event for Easter 2011 on the mountains; Kudos to Empire Entertainment and Fizzles.
