28830815“Music makes me smile; a day without a smile is like darkness has taken over light.”

That was how rising Ghanaian musician Nana Asamoah known in the music arena as Na Asa described his career.

He is currently out with a new song titled, ‘I dey Ringo,’ a contemporary Afro music which reflects on something fishy that goes on in the world of Love and mobile phones.

Na Asa was brought up in a religious family of 21 brothers and sisters and extended family members from Asante Bekwai.

He showed interest in African cultural and free style dancing and singing at an early age and took out most top dancers in Ghana by winning almost every dance competition that he contested.

This developed into professional dancing where he formed his own group ‘Sir Porous Dance Group’ of 20 top dancers and performed on the stages of GTV, TV3 and Music for Your Dancing Feet among others before deciding to sing.

He also worked as a background singer and a dancer for some great musicians in Africa like Fifi Rafiatou from Togo, Kanda Bongoman from Congo-Zaire, Nana Acheampong from Ghana, Agboti Yawo Muwena from Togo, Odehe Dance Company, Ghana Dance Ensemble, Ghana Highlife Giants and later relocated to Germany.

He released his first solo music album entitled ‘Gyemedi-Believe Me,’ an Afro R&B and Highlife soul in the 90s in Ghana, and released an album titled, ‘Ketse’ in 2000.

He has performed alongside top artists like Kojo Antwi, Youssou N’dour, Ofori Amponsah, Lokua Kanza, Samini and others and has featured in music with Ofori Amponsah, Naro Vitale, Dada KD, Ryan Paris and Barima Sidney.

In 2010 one of his Afro pop tracks, ‘Sun kum bum,’ won the German DDO Golden Plate.

Na Asa finished working on his latest Afro pop video for the song titled ‘I dey Ringo’ which has been released on youtube.com.
