Mutual Fund Task For Challenge Contestants

The challenge season 4 contestants last week had one of the most interesting tasks. The challengers had to come up a mutual fund investment product or package for on e of the sponsors of the competition Databank which is also one of the leading investment banks in Ghana.

The challengers were taken on a tour of Databank and also briefed on the various products and services the bank has. A representative from the bank briefed the challengers on their current mutual fund products and what is expected of them in regards to their task.

The challengers were grouped into three groups and presented their mutual fund packages and products to a team from Databank and possible investors. Nii Ampa-Sowah, Maamle Totimeh and Ntiwaa Kwaakye represented Databank.

Ace Financial Services group which had Afua, Emma and Asante presented the Green Fund mutual fund product which was targeted at individuals from the youthful age to the old age and environmental associations. They talked about how the Green fund will benefit individuals as
well as the associations if they contribute to the Green fund and boasted of the quality experts who will monitor their investment and ensure that it yields interests.

The second group was the HFP financial services group which consisted of Hackman, Prince and Felix. They presented a couple of mutual fund products namely MarriFund, UniFund and Megavet. The UniFund was targeted at people going to universities and parents with children
at the university.

The fund is to enable them pay outstanding fees and even have some money left when they finish their tertiary education. MarriFund is for couple about to tie knot, HFP financial services through Marrifund can decide to cater for all expenses or some expenses of the wedding and the Megavet is targeted at those who want to start a business but lack financing.

The last group to present their mutual fund product to the team and possible investors was the WelFund Investment Managers. Their mutual fund product was the Welfund which basically targets the welfare and associations. The welfund seeks to give its investors a short term and
long term investment plan which will yield them interesting profits should they invest in the welfund. Welfund as the name suggests for itself is directed towards the welfare of investors be it educational needs, funeral needs or anything concerning their welfare.

All three groups answered questions from the team from Databank and possible investors to clarify some parts of their presentation to them. At the end of all presentations, the team from Databank praised all three groups for a good job done however, some lacked confidence and some products were not well positioned. All three groups exhibited convincing and creative presentation.
