She is Africa’s finest, crowned Best Actress In Leading Role at the 7th Annual African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) ceremony held in Nigeria recently.

Surprisingly, Ama achieved this feat through her first ever major role in a movie, Sinking Sands directed by Ghanaian-born Hollywood movie producer and director, Leila Djansi.

She beat movie heavyweights Genevieve Nnaji, Omoni Oboli, Idiat Shobande, Manie Malone and Denise Newman to win that award.

Beautiful Ama took some time off after shooting some of her scenes in Laila’s current production; Ties That Bind at their location in East Legon for a chat with Myjoyonline.com.

She reveals her thoughts on the AMAA award, working with Laila Djansi, life as an actress, her current project and the future.
