MzGee hosts Hitz FM’s Weekend Entertainment Show

To advocates of the creative arts and entertainment, it is good news that more entertainment analysis programmes are being born on radio of late because they contribute to the growth of the creative industry.

About three months ago, Hitz 103.9 FM introduced a weekend entertainment analysis show called ‘Entertainment this Week,’ obviously to discuss all the top entertainment issues that make headlines during the week.

The show comes off every Saturday from 7am to 10am and it is hosted by MzGee. It’s too early to assess her but MzGee has proven within this short period that she has a lot to offer as she comes across as very intelligent and on top of issues.

She asks the right questions just that sometimes she becomes too ‘litigious’ and drags issues, making her stray from the main topic.

I also would love that she starts the show much earlier. I don’t understand why they would ‘waste’ a full hour to play music when there are a lot of items to talk about on the show. MzGee needs to start at seven o’clock so she gets time for the issues.

Born Gloria Akpene Nyarku on 1st April, 1984, MzGee holds a certificate in Basic Banking, Ghana Banking College (2014), Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (2010-2012) and HND Marketing, Cape Coast Poly (2004-2007).

She co-produces Daybreak Hitz which is Hitz FM’s four-hour magazine entertainment and lifestyle morning show. She also sits in for the substantive presenter in his absence.

From October 2014 to April 2015, she had the sole duty to develop Oceans Television’s news content; conducting celebrity interviews for the news, covering entertainment shows, scripting and producing the news thrice a week.

“I doubled as the presenter for the news and the only on-air personality of the television channel,” she told Flex newspaper.

MzGee also hosts Campus on Hitz. Since assuming the role of host and with the wealth of production experience, she has been able to move the show to another level where social issues and informed discussions are fine tuned.

It has been a success as it is the toast of town in discussions on campus of almost all tertiary institutions in the country.
