Nana Addo Has Performed Well And He Needs Four More Years To Do More – Agya Koo
Of late, it is unclear as to what has actually triggered the surge in celebrities' interests in politics within the country.
Former musician Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour, for instance, had shown great interest in contesting the Asante Akyem South Parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the ruling party – NPP (but later lost).
Not quite long ago, actor Mr. John Dumelo contested and won his bid to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW) Parliamentary seat in the NDC's name and he is willing to battle it out with the incumbent – hon. lydia Seyram Alhassan on Dec 7.
Kumawood's best comical actor of all time, Kofi Adu aka Agya Koo's unflinching support for the ruling New Patriotic Party is an open secret and he's doing a gargantuan task by canvassing votes for Akufo-Addo. This is quite astonishing to some people because of how he complained bitterly sometime back that he had been sidelined after the NPP chalked success on Dec 7, 2016.
The actor, together with the likes of Martha, Socrates Sarfo, omane acheampong, Diana Asamoah and others, is of the view that the sitting President has done extremely well and deserves another tenure.
But, the issue is, many renowned personalities have gone this very way and lost their relevance in the industry. With a specific case study to Ghana's politics, it could be recalled that some celebrities have equally entered into politics and have in the process reduced and/or damaged their popularity and influence . Some big folks who have faced such predicaments include Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokono), kwame dzokoto (of Edziban fame) and others.
