The Founder and Leader of Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) and FACT – CHECK -GHANA, Sulemana Braimah has taken a swipe at the president for what he suspects to be a deliberate closure of opposition media.
In a Facebook post, he said democracy is built by allowing opposition voices to thrive. This comes after the ultramodern edifice of Asaase Radio went viral on social media this week after they started transmission. The station is rumored to belong to the president’s cousin and daughter.
“Democracy is built NOT by shutting down opposition broadcast media and granting frequencies to family and friends. Democracy thrives on diversity of voices, not monologue praise-singing by allies of a ruling party.”
