NDC attempt to bribe Bugri Naabu, NPP Northern Regional Chairman
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cited President John Dramani Mahama for attempting to compromise the party’s Northern Regional Chairman, Bugri Naabu, to create division in the elephant family.
According to the party, the deal between Mr. Mahama and their party Chair was for the latter to come out and disown the presidential candidate of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition for hating people who hail from the three regions up north.
The amount in the deal is a mouth-watering GHȼ3.3million in addition to a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Utility Vehicle.
To buttress their claim, the supposed SUV with registration number GS 687 – 16 was brought to the party’s headquarters while the press conference was going on.
The vehicle was one out of three promised him by President John Dramani Mahama with the remaining two being a brand new V8 Toyota Land Cruiser and brand new Nissan Pick-up.
Included in the package is also a road contract worth GHȼ190million.
Acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, speaking to Accra-based Oman FM on the side lines of a press conference on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, said Mr. Mahama in an attempt to keep his promise delivered the Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle and instantly paid GHȼ500.000.00 to Bugri Naabu.
The vehicle, he noted, was purchased by a certain Hawah Hayisi Aryee Mahama and one Frank Nuhu Alormasor, a personal assistant to Mr. Mahama and registered in the name of Bugri Naabu. “What is so painful is that they wanted Bugri Naabu to go and tell the public that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is a bad person. He doesn’t like people who hail from the Northern Region. He was also tasked to tell the public that Nana Akufo-Addo is running a one man show in the NPP and that he doesn’t like Northerners to lead the NPP,” John Boadu alleged.
He said the situation is so worrying that “people who have conscience should speak to the issue else John Dramani Mahama and his brother are collapsing the country.”
