NDC chased out of Kwahu by Kwahu Traditional Council from carrying out any event on its lands.

Information reaching this news portal indicates that the main opposition party – National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been banned by the Kwahu Traditional Council from carrying out any events on its land after some party executives allegedly placed curses on nonresidents who will attempt to register in the ongoing registration exercise at the area.

The Council has further directed the closure of two radio stations – OKwahu FM and Afram FM owned by Mark Oliver Kevor, the former Eastern Regional Secretary of the party with immediate effect. This was revealed by the Linguist of the Kwahu Traditional Area, Nana Akouko Boateng.

This follows the Council’s accusatory remark that the NDC and its regional executives have disrespected them for refusing their invitation and running them down on air.

Part of the Council’s statement said;

“We take a strong view of his conduct. You [Mark Oliver Kevor] were summoned before the Traditional Council but you refused to show up. You then go and sit on your radio stations which are located on Kwahu land and run us down.

“We order that the two stations belonging to Kevor – Okwahu FM and Afram FM – be closed by 12 pm today [Thursday]. If the stations continue to operate beyond the stipulated time, we’ll advise ourselves.”
