New act, Mr Ringor calls Samini and others fake!
In recent times GH dancehall seems to be gaining new grounds with the likes of Samini, Mugeez and Sonni Balli taking the dancehall sounds from Ghana to the rest of the world. Dancehall act, Mr.Ringor [formerly known as Terry B.] may not exactly be a household name in GH but this Ghanaian born artiste who has spent years honing his skills in the dancehall capital of the world, Kingston, Jamaica, believes that he’s the one to do the right dancehall in GH. Catching up with him at his plush Madina residence, he states that though the likes of Samini and other dancehall acts in GH may be gaining grounds he believes theirs is not the original version of the genre and has been over-commercialized thus losing the real groove and beauty of dancehall music. Nicknamed “the Girls Dem Swingor”, Mr. Ringor believes he is on his way to becoming the GH dancehall King, and absolutely none of the current crop of dancehall acts can measure up to his skills.
With just a few months of emergence in the Music Industry in Ghana, he has managed to win the admiration of many Ghanaian music pundits and has gained quite a recognized following on the underground circuit; and in 2011, his style of music is set to take the country by surprise.
Most of his joints have been done with upcoming producer Infectious Beats and has featured He has featured on songs with Paul Mentor 3, Yaa Pono and other underground musicians both released and unreleased.
His new joint, the anthemic and dance floor burning “Ring my bell” is one of the songs to watch out for this year and is already hugely popular amongst most dancehall fans.No tags for this post.
