New music TV reality show to hit the screens soon

imagesFor the aged in the society who have not had the chance to contest in any musical reality shows in the country because they have been marginalized due to their age, this is the opportunity for you to showcase your musical talents in  a Television Musical Reality Show.

Known as “Kill The Beat: Become a Star”, it is a reality show which has five musical categories, namely, Highlife, Hiphop/Hiplife, Reggae Dancehall, Gospel and Classical Music and each of the category is to produce a winner.

Unlike the other reality shows in which all the musical categories have been jammed up and as such contestants and the public do not differentiate who sings what song, “Kill The Beat: Become a Star” has singled these categories out to ensure that talents in these categories are unearthed.

“Kill The Beat: Become a Star”, is expected to hit the screens of various TV stations across the country soon with the aim of unearthing talents not only from the youth who are entering into the music industry but also the aged who may have had such talents but have not explored them due to lack of opportunity.

Under “Kill The Beat: Become a Star” reality show, an audio CD with several instrumentals on it is given when a contestant purchase the audition forms. A contestant is to select one of the instrumentals, rehearse with their own lyrics before the audition day and then come to the audition venue to perform.

The Chief Executive Officer for Trinity Business Consult Ltd, the organizers of the event, Raymond Koomson, was optimistic that “Kill the Beat: Become a Star” has come to give the existing shows a run for their money.

“Several of these musical reality shows are already being aired on our various TV stations and they are doing well but “Kill the Beat: Become a Star” has come to tackle the challenges that have engulfed those already in session. Winners in the already existing ones do not come back into the real music industry as commercial products and it is either the judges get it wrong or the people”.

Raymond said “most of these have the talents that have not been tapped because if you have a dancehall artist in a reality show, the likelihood of the artist drawing or attracting the crowd or followers is high because dancehall reigns”.

“Kill The Beat: Become a Star” will be shown on TV stations such as Viasat 1, Angel TV (on Multi TV) and Kantanka TV.

Regional auditions will take place in October, in Tamale (Radach Hotel) for the three northern regions (9th-10th), Kumasi (Sunset Hotel) for the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions (16th-17th), Takoradi (Viana Beach Resort) for Central and Western regions (23rd and 24th) and Accra (La Villa Boutique Hotel) for Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Regions (30th 31st).
