Nigeria records first Coronavirus death

The recent COVID-19 pandemic that is taking a toll on all economies and other facets of our lives globally has just snatched a life in West Africa.

Africa’s most populous country has reported the first death caused by the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced the death on Monday morning.

Via Twitter, the NCDC disclosed that the victim was a 67-year-old man who returned to the oil-rich country after seeking medical attention for a separate health condition in the UK.

Nigeria has recorded 36 cases of the coronavirus, COVID-19. Two people have also been discharged from the hospital after recovering fully.
