No turning back -Born-again musicians say

240x_mg_rev_azigizaSome years ago names like KK Kabobo, Ofori Amponsah, Lord Kenya, Nana King and Azigiza were the men who made things happen musically but today these men are born-again. The question I, and  I believe many Ghanaians want to ask is how these great musicians are getting on especially in their new but old careers.

Lord Kenya and Ofori Amponsah have complained bitterly about how bad the market has been since turning to gospel music. They said that they were reaping more money when they were in the secular world playing worldly music than they do now playing gospel. What have been their pluses and minuses?  Do some of them regret turning a new leaf?

In a chat with Showbiz, Pastor Azigiza Jr., Victor kpakpo Addo said that after 15 years of being born again some people still perceive him a fake person.

‘After 15 years of being born again, many are those who still have their doubts about me. I didn't turn born again to please men but I did so God.

‘Although I came out with two gospel albums which did not do well in Ghana but did well in UK and USA, I have never regretted giving myself to God. The truth is when you become new in Christ it takes time for people to accept you, so I don't believe in rushing to do gospel music' he said.

Currently, Azigiza who is into advertising and PR says he is happy the way his life has been transformed.

On the part of Apostle KK Kabobo who is noted for songs like Nyatse Nyatse Girl, Running Away and Onyame Ehu Wo, he is yet to come out with his maiden gospel album. He told Showbiz that he has a studio where he records musicians from gospel to hiplife.

KK Kabobo who has had his own challenges ever since he became born again said it is not easy for a secular musician to be accepted by people especially when the people know the kind of songs you played in the past.Lord Kenya

According to him, you really need to be strong other than that you might end up going to the world. ‘If you always think of what people will say then you cannot do the work of God. You cannot live any life when you are born again. People will criticize you because they want you back but you need to be strong other than that you will end up turning your back to God'

The Sika Baa hitmaker, Lord Kenya now who has complained about low sales after becoming born again said never had he regretted accepting God into his life despite poor sales after releasing two gospel albums.

‘I know people want me to come back to the world but that is a lie, once I have the backing from God and the church, I have no problem at all. I am happy to have accepted Jesus Christ. Those who wish me back are wasting their time. There is no turning back for me, life is so good and I love it this way.

Ofori AmponsahProphet Ofori Amponsah who is minding his own after accepting God said God has been good to him. He told Showbiz giving his life to God has been the thing that ever happened to him.

‘Yes, I did a number of hit songs from Otoolege to Cinderella but now I have Onyame Asem which is not doing so well but I know God has plans for me.  I am hundred percent born again and I want people to know and accept it', Prophet Ofori Amponsah said.

These are comments from our great musicians who have decided to serve God whole heartedly.
