The talent hunt, open to talented rappers in Ghana and Nigeria, will search for the hottest rap act in a winner takes all competition. The winner will walk away with a prize package including US$20,000 and a coaching session in the United States with a renowned producer.
Explaining the modalities of the competition, David Anku of Nokia Ghana, speaking at the launch at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, said interested persons are to send their rap lines via an entry form via the DBDB tab on the Nokia Ghana Facebook page.
He said, interested persons’ rap lines have to include WhatsApp, Dual SIM and Wi-Fi which are three key features of NOKIA ASHA 210 Dual SIM QWERTY phone.
David Anku noted that, over the course of the next three months, judges working both within Ghana and Nigeria will prune the number of contestants down to 100. This final select squad of 100 will subsequently send in audios of their best lines.
According to him, based on the judging, the list will be further reduced after two more rounds of screening to four contestants for the grand finale in Lagos, Nigeria. The mode of judging will include voting by the general public.
In addition to the voting, the public will be able to keep the ‘Never ending beat’ alive from the 1st of October to the Grand Finale on the November 23, 2013 by creating their own beats.
The show will be judged by four entertainment industry gurus in Ghana and Nigeria including Ghanaian presenter Jay Foley of 4SYTE TV fame.
