‘Noted Trend In Ghana Music Circles: The Kelvynbwoy Karma’

Most big artistes have complained of how ungrateful most upcoming musicians are. Perhaps, this is why most musicians seen as underground musicians often struggle to shine.

This could probably be linked with some previous experiences that others have gone through for helping some rising musicians. There could be a couple of artistes as a case study such as that of Strongman Burner and Sarkodie, where the latter felt betrayed by the former for leaving the SarkCess record label after two years. Even though Strongman is doing well today, many feel that he would have gone far if he had stayed with Sark till now. No wonder many are trolling Strongman for losing out on the Best Rapper Award.

On the contrary, some signees have continually stayed loyal and showcased their undying support to their bosses. Samuel Adu Frimpong aka Medikal (MDK) for instance has always appreciated Cris Waddle of Arab Money Gang (AMG) Business Fame for his assistance and Fancy Gadam has often mentioned Sarkodie’s name for his feature that pushed him into the spotlight.

The newest dad in town, Medikal’s unflinching support for Criss Waddle has always made him one of the coolest musicians in Ghana and many tip him to explore more because of how respectful he is to Criss Waddle till date (he acknowledges him on all stages he mounts)

But, another case that trended more and still exists now was recorded between Stonebwoy and Kelvinboy. The fact of the case remains that Kelvyboy reportedly said his former boss is not the originator of Dance hall music in Ghana which felt like a big blow to Stonebwoy. In a supposed rebuttal; in an interview, Stonebwoy deepened the perceived rift between his former ‘boy’ and himself when he hinted of his decision to enter into contractual agreements with any upcoming artistes he decides to sign or help going forward. Fans have started attributing Kelvynbwoy’s inability to win the Afrobeat Song of the year in the just ended VGMA21 is as a cause of Stonebwoy’s fury (Africans and superstitious beliefs).
