NPP busing people to North East Region for voter registration
Supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the North East Region on Sunday intercepted and prevented a bus from making its way through Nalerigu, the Regional Capital of the newly created North East Region.
According to them, the people did not hail from the Region and could not speak any of the dominant languages in the Region. They suspected that either the Regional Minister, Hon. Solomon Boar who is also the Member of Parliament of Bunpkrugu Constituency or Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama, the Minister for Local Government and MP for Nalerigu Constituency is behind the transportation of the aliens into the area for the registration.
According to reports, the people who were found on the bus could not speak Mampruli, Bimoba, or Konkomba which are the leading languages of the area.
Reacting to the news, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party of the region, Lawyer Sulley Sambian said the people are indigenes of the area who are residing in other parts of the country and not aliens.
“WHAT IS HAPPENING IN OUR REGION?
