The obvious choice of who leads the ruling New Patriotic Party into the 2024 electoral warfare is still a bone of contention. Whilst many feel that veep Bawumia should be the obvious choice because of the impact he made in the Northern part of Ghana on Dec 7, others think he deserves it not.
One NPP guru has penned down his thought to this effect.

Honestly it’s hard to say who leads the NPP in 2024. One reason for this is the two-part process of becoming president. To win the primary you have to alienate the moderates, to win the general you have to alienate your base. Another reason is the huge number of NPP Presidential candidates.
Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is the obvious choice for front-runner. He is amongst the last honest Ghanaian politicians today. Not a hint of scandal anywhere near him. He refused to take corporate bribes. And he focused on real issues, not the phony “issues” that John Mahama and NDC want us to be concerned with so that they don’t have to deal with Economic Justice, Education, Wages, and the Health Care industry.
Although It will be a closer election, if Dr Bawumia decides to run, than seems to be generally assumed here on Facebook that Dr Bawumia will win the race, which I think might be suffering from a bout of confirmation bias. The NPP party, contrary to popular opinion, is not run by idiots, and they’re preparing to run an election race to win the 275 Parliamentary majority seats and the presidential seat in 2024.
