Online Studies To Continue When Schools Resume In January 2021 – NAPO Reveals
Basic schools (except the JHS 2s), second cycle and the tertiary institutions in the country have all halted their academic calendars because of the President’s directive as a result of the Novel Coronavirus.
The Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh who doubles as the Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP) says the online learning and radio studies introduced by the Education Ministry will still continue in the next academic year when schools fully resume in 2021.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after directing for the closure of schools nationwide tasked the Ministry of Education to institute various online learning programmes for students who will be temporarily staying at home amid pandemic.
The Education Ministry in line with the President’s directive collaborated with the the Ghana Education Service (GES) and rolled out various online and radio programmes for students in Junior and Senior High Schools.
NAPO speaking at the ongoing National Education Week Celebration at the Accra monitored by many online portals stated that the Ministry will continue to roll out the television and radio programmes when schools resume in 2021.
The outspoken legislator noted students after school will have the opportunity to continue studies at home as they benefit from the programmes on selected television and radio stations.
