Opinion: The Pressure Body Builders Lay On Other Men

I may not need any specific research to determine that 6 out of 10 Ghanaian men or even women have developed pot bellies, because, this is an obvious fact!

Inasmuch as we strive to be fit, we can give thousand excuses to support why some people have those pot bellies. Fitness may not necessarily come with well-built body and a flat tummy (and six packs) but it is a generally perceived idea that chubby people are not fit as compared to their slim and well-exercised counterparts.

This is one of the reasons why gym instructors have now raised their prices. After all, most of us gained a pound or two during the lockdown season and losing it is as difficult as convincing an NPP or NDC born and bred supporter to rally behind Akua Donkor’s GFP or Osofo KyiriAbosom’s GUM!

Keeping fit, however, is good and must be encouraged but the pressure some of these gym instructors or six pack wielders give other men is just too much!
