Oquaye Jnr Ready To Face Off Adwoa Safo For Dome Kwabenya Seat

Ghana's Ambassador to India, Mike Oquaye Jnr, successfully filed his nomination forms to contest in the Dome Kwabenya constituency primaries of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Should he sail through his vetting, Dr. Oquaye will be going toe to toe with the deputy Majority Leader of , Lawyer Sarah Adjoa Safo, who is the current member of parliament the constituency to determine who represents the NPP in the December parliamentary elections in the constituency.

This will be the second time the two will be facing off in the party's primaries.

In 2012 when current speaker of parliament, Mike Oquaye Senior, who happens to be the father of the ambassador to India was exiting parliament, the two: Adjoa Sarfo Oquaye Junior contested in the party primary which saw Adjoa Sarfo getting the nod.

Eight years down the line, the two are set to battle it out again in what is expected to be one of the fiercest contests in the March 25, parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party.

Touted by his supporters as the “grassroots man”, Dr Oqauye Junior is hopeful of unseating the Minister of State in Charge of Procurement, Sarah Ajdoa Sarfo.
