Parliamentary aspirant arrested for holding a rally

An independent aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South Constituency, Joseph Kofi Damte, has been arrested by Police for holding political campaign rally and breaching the coronavirus protocols.

 

The police were prompted of his rally by some of the residents in the area who found his action to be dangerous to the safety of the people.

He was one of the aspirants of the NPP primaries in the constituency but was disqualified. He would have contested Hon. Rev. Ntim Fordjour the incumbent MP.

 

 

He decided to stand as an Independent candidate after he was disqualified unfairly by the party.

He is still in the custody of the police and hs not been granted by]ail as of the time of filing this report.
