Pastor Enoch Adeboye Pays President Muhammadu Buhari A Visit At The State House in Abuja


President Muhammadu Buhari received the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye earlier on Monday at the State House of Assembly in Abuja.

The meeting was made known by President Buhari’s personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad via his twitter on Monday afternoon.
The vice president Yemi Osinbajo and the chief of staff to the president Ibrahim Gambari were also in attendance during the visit. Details of the meeting at the time of publishing this report are not yet known.

This visit came few weeks after the recently signed companies allied matters act (CAMA) 2020 which had caused criticisms among religious bodies in the country. The bill which was signed into law on August 7 provides that the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and a supervising minister will regulate church activities. Section 839 (1) &(2) of the new law gives the Registrar-General of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) power to suspend trustees and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and appoint interim managers to manage their affairs where it believes there has been misconduct or mismanagement in the administration of the association.
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had rejected the act immediately describing it as unacceptable and ungodly.
