PDS’ CONTRACT WAS NOT TERMINATED BASED ON BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION CHARGES – INFORMATION MINISTER
The current trending issue in ghana now is the Power Distribution Services' distribution license that has been revoked.
The distribution of power was formerly done by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ecg) but this year, the government gave the power concession to PDS instead. According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who is the Minister for Information, the PDS deal was cancelled not because of alleged bribery and corruption as people are insinuating in the media landscape but instead it is because of some requisite modalities that are no more forth coming from the authorities in charge of PDS.
Addressing the media horizon, he further reiterated that employees of PDS should have no fears for their jobs since no one would be sacked but rather migrated to the ECG staff payroll to continue his or her work.
What is your take on this.
