367919661_784376When she showed up at the appointed time for the NEWS-ONE interview on Tuesday, her appearance gave her away as a wild, crazy and daring lady.

She had a big black tattoo of the face of Jesus Christ of Nazareth on her right arm, pierced her lower lip and tongue and she spoke with an American accent.

She introduced herself as Aysha Buari, the step sister of celebrated actress Nadia Buari and daughter of Alhaji Sidiku Buari, former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Aysha said she had lived in Minneapolis for the most part of her life and that she was quitting her profession as a licensed Pharmacy Technician to enter the movie industry in Ghana.

“I used to watch my dad’s movies over and over and over again in the past.

I will say I get my inspiration from my dad. I remember when I was about five years old, my dad asked me what I wanted to be in future and was like, ‘Dad I want to be like you’.

Dad was like ‘why don’t you want to be a doctor or a nurse like some of your sisters’ and I was like ‘why do I want to be?

I want to be just like you?’ It is not about the money but the passion I have for it.

I don’t care if I’m not paid pretty much. I want to act in Africa. I act from anywhere…

“I want to act. I think acting is my world, I don’t see myself doing anything else apart from acting.

I have tried other stuffs like pharmacy tech, I got a license for it but I didn’t like it and quitted my job.

I worked as a bartender, I didn’t like it and quitted. I always quit my job. But acting is what I always want to do,” she stated.

She added that she has a crazy talent for acting, the reason she won’t let it go waste.

“I can make people laugh and sometimes get into character and do some crazy stuff and keep a straight face and my mother will freak out and think it is true. But it is like April fool’s day.”

“I love my sister. She is my sister and I love her. We had our ups and downs because we went to the same boarding school and that brought up a lot of crazy stuff between us.

And people used us against each other and I didn’t like it. But I love all my sisters and my step mothers,” she said when she was asked about her relationship with her sister, Nadia.

Her Mother

Aysha said her mother, Bernice Mensah, is half Ewe and half Ga, and has been residing in the USA for over 25 years.

She left Ghana over 17 years ago when she was young.

Before traveling, she had her basic and secondary school education at the Deks Preparatory School and Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School with Nadia Buari.

She went on to further her education in the USA, attending a Pharmacy Technician school and a management school.

She also did a VIP course at the Walden Entertainment which paved the way for her to enter America’s entertainment industry in Minneapolis.

She had the opportunity to feature as an ‘extra’ in videos and also featured in some commercials.

She did her own show called ‘Social Gay’ and featured on musician POS’s music video. She did other projects including pageants.

She returned to Ghana some two weeks ago. It is her second time in over 17 years.

She first came to Ghana some two years ago when she lost her grandmother.

Currently, she is ready to spend some time in Ghana, if she gets the necessary motivation from Ghana’s movie industry.

She has also disclosed she would be launching her African clothing line called Queen Eye Clothes Line and come up with some really great designs for youth.
