With a dream of becoming a computer scientist, no one would ever believe that Collins Nartey would eventually become a DJ and a great one at that.
A graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with honours in Computer Science, Collins Nartey well known among party goers and music lovers as DJ Aroma during his days on campus found himself making his own playlist and playing them via VLC.
This would attract a number of people who loved the music he put together as playlist. He would then move to mixing them kindest courtesy the Virtual DJ software.
As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect”, DJ Aroma learnt almost everything about the software to the extent that he could virtually reprogram the software to do that exactly what he needed it to do thanks to his computer science background.
Playing for friends who could not resist his skill and talent at drink ups and social gatherings, DJ Aroma rose to the apex etching himself among the best and gradually becoming the most sought after campus DJ which eventually won him The Most Influential Student DJ at Ghana Tertiary Awards in 2015.
He climbed on to becoming the entertainment chairman for Republic Hall, his hall of affiliation while on campus.
Since sticking to DJing as a profession, DJ Aroma has secured nominations at the Ghana DJ Awards and Jack Daniels Nightlife Awards.
His way of keeping any crowd he plays for active and continuously yearning for more is a an obvious signature of every party he’s hosted
DJ Aromah has since then rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in the country including DJ Black, DJ Slim and DJ Mensah.
Among the tall list of shows and high profile events headlined are, The YFM AREA Codes Jam, The legacy Night with Sarkodie (KNUST), Loud Concert with Korede bello, Ree-Addiction with Reekado Banks, MTN Pulse on KNUST with Stonebwoy, SRC Fun City KNUST, Ciroc Friday and many others.
Currently the host of Friday Night Flex and Party Pressure on Ghana’s Biggest and Favorite Urban Station, YFM(102.5) , Kumasi, DJ Aroma brings on vibe like none other.
