Photos: Pounds FC wins 5-aside gala at 2019 Hitz FM Rep Ur Jersey
After weeks of bragging among competing teams led by presenters of Hitz FM, June 1 brought an end to heated debates over which team possessed peerless football skills.
Dr Pounds led Pounds FC, Merqury Quaye marshalled the Turn Up Army, Mic Gizo put together the Ladies’ Man FC, KMJ captained the Royal Babies, Prince Tsegah led Don’s Empire, Andy Dosty selected females for his Dosty FC while Fylla FC represented the News Department.
Other teams included The Multimedia Group’s Sales Department, Simbabet FC and Shaka FC represented producers of Shaka Vodka Energy Drink.
Pounds FC progressed from the knock-out stage to beat Turn Up FC in the final game of the 5-aside football match at this year’s ‘Hitz FM Rep Ur Jersey’.
The star-studded Pounds FC was made up of Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata, Kwasi Pee, Donzy, Papa Bills, Comedian Hogan, Dr Pounds and coached by Black Stars midfielder, Agyemang Badu.
Team Doreen Avio also beat competition from Team AJ, Team Tima Kumkum and Team Kady to win the ladies penalty shoot-out.
Ridge Babies, Madina Paws, Teshie Vikings and Gh Media School entertained spectators with their display of exciting basketball skills.
There were also Volleyball, Table Tennis, Arm-wrestling and video game competitions on the day.
Sponsors of this year’s ‘Hitz FM Rep Ur Jersey’ presented prizes to all winning teams on the day.
The event was also graced by VGMA ‘Artiste of the Decade’ nominee Samini and a host of other dignitaries.
