Prez Commissions Greenhouses & Entrepreneurship/ Innovation Centre At Dawhenya
The president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned seventy-five greenhouses and an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre, at Dawhenya, constructed by the Ministry of Business Development and the National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Plan. According to the ministry, after a thorough profiling, it has been concluded that this is the biggest green village estate in Ghana, and, indeed in West Africa.
The seventy-five (75) greenhouses is capable of producing four thousand, five hundred (4,500) tonnes of tomatoes annually, bringing in a yearly revenue of some eleven million cedis (GH¢11 million), and employing a total of two hundred and thirty (230) people. It has emerged that, vegetables from this farm are being sold at Shoprite, Farmers Market, Eden Tree and other places.
