Private Schools Entreated To Fumigate Classrooms Before Reopening Of Schools
As there is a rumour in the air that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo may lift the ban on Educational Institutions over this weekend, various owners of private schools are lacing their boots towards ways to making their respective schools safer for learners and teachers.
Some efforts being made towards the reopening of the schools are on most gnaps platforms.
The notice on one of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS)'s whatsapp page read:
“Greetings to you all honourable members of the GNAPS family. We attended a Regional GNAPS executives meeting today and there was one item on the agenda that needs immediate attention by all members. It is about the FUMIGATION of schools which you might have heard will come on in public schools before they will re-open. It has become mandatory for private schools too to do the same else parents will not feel comfortable letting their children come back to our schools if we don't fumigate them.
The letter below is from a company which is ready to do it for us should the government fumigate its schools and neglect ours. However, it will be done for a fee that is negotiable and ranging from 500, 1000 and 1500 Ghana cedis depending upon the SIZE OF YOUR SCHOOL and the work involved.
You are therefore requested to register by sending the name of your school on the platform. Interested people's names would be sent to sunyani by Monday. Thank you”.
