Probe Airbus And Save Ghana From International Mockery – Ntim Fordjour Insists

The MP for Assin South, Rev Ntim Fordjour still wants an inquiry into the airbus scandal to uncover the identities of the Government Official 1 and Intermediary 5, named as the local accomplices in the international saga after his request to parliament was rejected.

According to him, revealing the identities of those people and finding facts about the Airbus brouhaha will save the country from international ridicule.

We [Ghana] had so many foreigners visiting Ghana recently because of the good name we have. So we must save the name,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Rev John Ntim Fordjour earlier made the request in a statement he read on the floor of the House urging the House to lift the veil on the said officials whose identity still remains a mystery.

He explained that, such an inquiry remains the only true way of putting the matter to rest.

But his request was turned down by the Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye.

Speaker Oquaye, in his ruling, said although Parliament had the powers to do so, it would be premature since the President asked the Special Prosecutor to investigate the matter.

He however said the House would still live by investigative powers granted it, and would come into the probe as and when it mattered.
