Provide constant electricity to entertain Ghanaians in Lockdown – Minority
The Minority in Parliament has charged the government to ensure a constant supply of electricity as the country goes under a two-week partial lockdown in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
According to them, the very existence of the people particularly those in the areas affected by the lockdown depends on electricity as most workers will entertain themselves online, communicate to lovers and do other stuff. As for the students who are home, they are expected to resort to online platforms for their continued academic progress.
It is for these reasons that the minority in the August House, through Ranking Member of the Select Committee of Mines and Energy, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu, wants the government to consider electricity as the most essential commodity that will keep people home.
