PTA partners Teacher Unions to kick against GES’ plans to reopen schools amid COVID-19
A few days ago, four teacher unions including GNAT, NAGRAT, TEWU and CCT in a joint statement registered their displeasure in the intended reopening of school amid the Novel Coronavirus.
The latest to join the opposition is PTA.
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Ghana has backed calls for the ghana education service (GES) to review plans of reopening schools across the country since the COVID-19 case count is now over 6,000.
Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Apostle Alexander Yaw Danso, Chairman of the PTA had this to say:
“Has the number of infections plummeted? Have we secured a vaccine…and has the West African Examination Council (WAEC) released a Press Statement communicating any impending exams? adding, they're not ready to risk the health of their children in these dangerous times”.
He further disagreed with GES on their proposed decision.
