Queen Mother Admonishes Youth To Appreciate Ghana Music

SAM_1450Nana Araba Otua II accompanied by other two royals were present at the just ended Ghana DJ awards. When she came to present the awards she admonished the youth to love Ghanaian music. She explained that since they came to the venue only foreign songs were being played and that didn’t order well.
She said we should learn to love our own indigenous music and exploit the various avenues in doing that kind of music. She further stated that we have very unique instruments that gives unique sounds and sell Ghana to the world at large. Copying blindly will only make us the same us the rest. When we project our culture through music others will also adopt and join us. She urged that we embrace our music. Some of the audience started singing “yen ara ya sasi ne……” she smiled and motioned for them to listen as she mentioned the winner of the award.
