Rap has become the musical genre for most people because of how creative the composers are, how lyrically enticing most of the songs are, and other enviable attributes. In our Ghanaian musical circles, rap is enjoyed by almost everyone! Undoubtedly, when rap is mentioned in Ghana now, Michael Owusu Addo aka Sarkodie comes to mind because of his domestic and international exploits through rap music.

His days with sound engineer Hammer as one of the Last2 Soldiers with the likes of Tinny, Ayigbe Edem, Kwaw Kese, and others were a phenomenon!

Sarkodie’s wife, Tracy Owusu Addo aka Tracy Sarkcess, has been quite supportive of his career. The mother of two (Titi and well, the son whose name I’m unaware of yet) has become an enviable partner because of how successful she’s now from the struggling moments of poverty till now. But, looking at how intense Ghana’s politics is, did she make the right choice by allowing Sark to endorse His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his HappyDay song with Kuami Eugene?


Could it be that Sark has regretted but feeling too shy to admit? Even though artistes have the right to follow any political party of their choice, Ghanaians are not okay like other countries when their celebrities choose NPP or NDC. The bottom line is that the rivals of the party one campaigns for will definitely come for the “head” of the said renowned personality.

So, I ask again, with what happened to Clement Bonney aka Mr. Beautiful, Grace Omaboe aka Maame Dokono, Kofi Adu aka Agya Koo, Kwame Dzokoto (of Edziban Fame), etc because they supported either NPP or NDC, is Sarkodie still unperturbed about his endorsement of NPP?
