Our review artiste for the week is Sherifa Gunu who has presented a strong personality in the fight for women empowerment. Sherifa Gunu hails from the Dagbon of Northern Ghana as a princess of the Kingdom. Sherifa is married to Ikechuku Sunday and their blessed with a daughter. Gunu is a dancer and won award at the Hiplife Dance Championship in 2003.Sherifa danced for musicians and also backed them to learn from the best before launching her career. She did backing for likes of Kojo Antwi, Amakye Dede, Daddy Lumba, Nana Acheampong and Sarkodie. Sherifa has 3 albums to her credit.

Sherifa sings in her native language but has been able to win the love of all Ghanaians and Africans at large with her unique style and creativity. She loves music and dance which makes her performances lively. Sherifa is an African artist who set a trend for most Ghanaian female artiste to embrace their culture and dare to be different. She trained the likes of Noella Wiyalla and is a visionary of empowering northern region women to rise up and impact their generation.
