The death has been announced of South Africa’s award-winning rapper, HHP.
Sad news guys, as South African rapper HHP is dead.
According to TimesLive, the dead of the popular rapper was confirmed by his wife on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Lerato Sengadi, his publicist wife, spoke from the scene.
“Yes, yes, it’s true. I am with the family at the moment,” said a traumatised Sengadi. However, details surrounding the cause of his death have not be released.
HHP whose real name is Jabulani Tsambo according to reports had opened up in the past about his struggles with depression. According to TimesLive, another media outlet SowetanLive reported back in 2015 that HHP had attempted to commit suicide on several occasions.
Messages have however started pouring out from his colleagues including AKA and Da L.E.S who have both eulogised the late award-winning rapper on their Twitter pages. HHP was 38 and had a number of awards to his shelf which includes; South African Music Award for Male Artist of the Year, MTV Africa Music Award for Video of the Year in 2009.
HHP’s death is coming a few weeks after the death of another South African celebrity, Shoki Mokgapa was announced.

Back in September, South Africa lost one of its talented actors, Shoki Mokgapa. According to TshisaLIVE, the 34-year-old actor died on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, to be ascertained cause. Her death has gotten a lot of South Africans talking and expressing their sadness over her demise. A representative at Clive Morris Productions who did not want to be named told TshisaLIVE they were saddened by Shoki’s death and paid tribute to her professionalism.
“She was such a professional and such an amazing performer. The scenes that are currently on The Docket were such a pleasure to shoot because she was also such a sweetheart. She was really talented and who knows what more she could have done and we are saddened by the news of her death.”
Shoki Mokgapa won a SAFTA award in 2017 for Best Actress in a Feature Film for her role in the drama film ‘SINK.’
