SSNIT is not for only government workers.

SSNIT authorities have initiated a sensitization program to educate the entire populace on the need to make immense contributions to their outfit towards their retirements.

Speaking to patriots during the programme, the Director General in charge of SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang, advised all workers of mature age to start contributing to SSNIT. He further added that it is not only government workers that qualify as SSNIT contributors but all and sundry.

During the said awareness creation, a 25 year old cosmetics shop owner was seen happily applying as a SSNIT contributor for the first time. She expressed how happy she was and made it clear that she had the misconception that entrepreneurs, shop owners, farmers and others did not qualify as SSNIT contributors except those workers on government payroll.

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), is an agency of the government of Ghana. Its “job description”, according to its website, is to administrate the National Pension Scheme.
