Stephanie Benson to showcase her students

When students from the Benson Entertainment Production Institute (BEPI) performed for the first time last year at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill in Accra, they were novices at live performance but the girls still managed to kick some excitement into patrons.

About a year on, they are back at the same venue in the company of the founder of the school, singer Stephanie Benson to show how much they have improved.

They take to the +233 stage on Saturday, February 28 in a programme dubbed Lady Sings The Blues. Stephanie and her girls would perform her singles Goodbye, Good Feeling, So Me Mu and renditions of popular hits by other artistes.

Together with the Black Lace band (former members of the Shabo Crew), they have been rehearsing for the show which they see as their first major outing since enrolling at BEPI.

“We had a slow start at the school because we lost the administrator and finding a new person to run affairs took some time. Luckily, we have another efficient fellow in charge now and classes begun earnestly again by end of last year. In the short period, the girls have learnt a lot and we can’t wait to showcase something to music lovers,” Stephanie told Showbiz in an interview.

She said the girls have been taken through several voice training, dance and stage performance classes and they are eager to thrill the +233 audience from 8.00pm.

“We are all looking forward to a great night of fun,” Stephanie said.
