Ghana’s “dancehall superstar”, Stonebwoy, who signed up with Zylofone Media earlier this year has stated that he composed fellow Ghanaian artiste, Chris Waddle’s popular “Bie Gya” hit song.
During a recent interview on Zylofone FM’s Showbiz Agenda, the “higher” hit-maker said he wrote the popular song, “Bie Gya”, but chose to let it out to Chris so he could only feature on it. Responding to a question whether he considered “spiritual feeling” when releasing a song, he responded in the affirmative.
“A song like ‘Biegya’, I felt I’m not the one to churn out so I was like, ‘Waddle, why not take this song so I’ll be the one to feature on it?’ I wrote the song. I didn’t mean to say this but it’s because you’ve asked me that’s why this issue is out.” Said Stonebwoy in the interview.
According to Stonebwoy, Chris Waddle’s “Bie Gya” isn’t the only song he’s written, adding that he’s written several songs for a Ghanaian artists.
Stonebwoy will be having the second edition of his annual “Bhim Concert” on the 22 of December. The first edition saw a considerable amount of fans and patrons attend the concert. With last year’s concert being a hit, this year’s concert promises to be an exciting event.
“Bye Gya” controversy
Stonebwoy’s comments come almost a year after Chris Waddle accused popular Ghanaian artiste, Shatta Wale of stealing his song, “Bie Gya”, a title Shatta Wale also used for song of his.
Back then, Chris Waddle also accused Shatta Wale of employing occult measures to dampen other artist’s shine, artists Chris Waddle said Shatta Wale couldn’t compete with.
