Stonebwoy thrills at Woodin opening

imagesHe was on stage for only 20 minutes and yet dancehall musician, Stonebwoy did a good job when he appeared as a guest artiste at the opening of a Woodin shop at the West Hills Malls in Weija last Saturday.

Stonebwoy dished out songs like Baafira, Climax, Can’t Cool, Spreading Up, Pull Up and Ghetto Love to patrons who had come to the opening of the shop.

After performing Climax and Ghetto Love, Stonebwoy who was in a  woodin shirt over a pair of black trousers asked patrons which song they wanted to hear. After they all shouted Baafira, he rather sang, Pull Up which was still liked by many people.

When he finally sang Baafira which was the favourite of most people in the audience, Stonebwoy was asked by the organisers of the event to do an encore.

At the end of his act, it had to take about 10 security men to escort Stonebwoy from the stage to his car since his excited fans wanted to grab him and take pictures with him.

The opening ceremony began with a sod cutting which was followed by a fashion show exhibiting creations from some selected Ghanaian designers. They used Woodin fabrics to create the collections for the launch.

The designers which included Seyi Jones and Lakopue Collection showcased clothes and accessories for both men and women. There were long and short sleeves shirts, dresses, footwear, hooded tops, skirts, cocktail dresses among others all made from Woodin fabrics.

There was also a showcase of prêt-à-porter collection which can be found in all Woodin shops.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Woodin in Ghana, Mr. Kofi Boateng said the fabric which is made in Africa by Africans connects global trends into modern African life by transforming ethnic symbols into modern African designs.

“As a market leader in Africa fashion, Woodin seeks to translate the rich and beautiful African culture into fabric designs that resonate the young at heart”, he said.

To cherished consumers, Mr Boateng assured that it is the brands desire to be closer to them and will continue to do their best to deliver great value.
