Suspected Flu Outbreak in Prempeh College?

Ghana Health Service (GHS) begins investigations after 30 students were suspected of contracting the new flu and quarantined at Prempeh College.
It could be recalled that over 300 learners in Krobo girls were quarantined over this same flu some days ago.

Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Director of Public Health, GHS has made it clear that they are leaving no stone unturned in the H3N2 Flu complications.

Also, Head of the Disease Surveillance Department, GHS, Dr. Franklin Asiedu Bekoe says his outfit is working diligently with the Ghana Education Service (GES) to ensure that all students admitted into the various Senior High Schools are medically screened before they are allowed entry as a new strategy to check outbreak of diseases.

What is this new flu about?

According Wikipedia, “Influenza A virus subtype H3N2 is a subtype of viruses that causes influenza. H3N2 viruses can infect birds and mammals. In birds, humans, and pigs, the virus has mutated into many strains. In years in which H3N2 is the predominate strain, there are more hospitalizations”.
