The Aftermath Of The New Gh¢200, Gh¢100 Notes In Circulation.

Ghanaians were hit with a new legal tender for buying and selling some months ago. Upon all the protests from some selected few about how unnecessary the introduction of the new Gh¢200 and Gh¢100.00 were, their protests fell on deaf ears of Bank of Ghana as they went ahead to circulate the new currencies.

Getting one’s balance for such huge cash became a bit problematic in the early days of the circulation as some sellers and buyers were at each other’s throats during transactions.

A social media user identified as Kobina Mensah Odoom has added his voice to the issue under discussion.
He posted a photo of the Gh¢200 and Gh¢50 notes and alleged that he nearly gave them out as Gh¢100 (since there’s an acute resemblance in the Gh¢50.00 and Gh¢200 notes).

He revealed how dead he would’ve been if this erroneous move had happened. See his post below;

The aftermath of the new currencies and their circulation is now being felt by all and sundry.

Many had criticised the introduction of these currencies as a result of the government’s earlier intentions of adopting the ECO as the new legal tender.
